Sign In to Show Your SupportSometime in November 2020, Oscar discovered a lump in his back. Due to the pandemic, doctor appointments were weeks out so he decided to go to the ER to get it checked out. The exams came back with a diagnosis of lipoma (fatty tissue). No big deal (we thought) as apparently lipoma is common and not life threatening.
As Oscar shared this diagnosis with close friends he discovered that doctors won’t remove lipoma unless you advocate for yourself and tell them the lump is becoming painful.
That said, as Oscar started noticing this lump in his back was getting bigger, he called weekly in December to try to schedule the removal of this lump. With much persistence he was finally given a date in January for the removal of this fatty tissue.
