Journal entry by Summer Joe —
Dear Friends and Family,
It has been a little over a month since Oreland has returned to his home from Phoenix, AZ and I would like to update you all on how his transition has been going, as well as letting you know about the results of his recent MRI. Upon arriving home, Oreland has been adjusting very well considering the current pandemic we are all facing each and everyday. My father has truly amazed us all with the paintings he has done in such a short amount of time. He continues on his artistic path, stepping away from sculpting during this time as he allows himself to heal mentally, emotionally and physically. Oreland's heart has been overly warmed with the amount of food brought to our home from friends and neighbors, the daily phone calls, emails, cards and most of all, being with his family.
Yesterday, on May 27th, 2020 Oreland had his first MRI since his discharge from the Mayo Clinic. Thankfully, we are happy to report that his MRI scan looked good, and there were not any abnormalities to be seen. Moving forward, we are very hopeful and adamant in keeping in good faith and trusting the process of the new plan to begin chemotherapy again in the coming days. As you may know, this is not an easy road for Oreland, however he is very determined and forthright about his faith in this process.
We love you all and our hearts are with you as each of us trudge through this pandemic and the difficult times in our world today.
Sincerely,
The Joe Kids
