Journal entry by Kirstin Ramsay —
Finally, graduation! When mom finished her infusion, she received a certificate signed by people who love her throughout the cancer center, from the folks who sign her in at the front desk, to the nurses and schedulers in her incilogist’s iffuce, to chemo nurses and staff in the 4th floor.
She also received a 🔔 bell so she can “ring out.” Ringing our is a tradition started at MD Anderson to mark the rite of passage of completing chemotherapy treatment. It’s a symbol of hope both for the patient and for all of those who hear it. She finished chemo...and you can get through your challenges too!
Final photo is us at home that evening. I came over after her nap to cheers her with eggnog. Dad also took a video of us celebrating with the bell, but I can’t upload it to this website.
Onward!!!
