Welcome to Olive's Journey. Since our beautiful Olive arrived our lives have been turned upside down while trying to maintain normalcy for our big guy Theo.  We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate everyone's  support and words of  encouragement, keep it coming. We know there is light on the other side of this tunnel!

Day 48 and we get to finally bring our baby girl home!

Olive has met all of the goals for discharge and we are out of here! Something changed in the past 48 hours and Olive started chugging her bottles like a pro. She is gaining weight, currently at 8lbs 4.1 oz,  faster than before because she is actually consuming more on her own schedule versus the hospitals. She looks so healthy and happy and gives me smiles all the time.

Today is a dream. I am a weepy mess thinkinng of Theo meeting Olive today and walking out of these doors for the last time with my baby in my arms.

This journey is by no means over. We already have 7 different doctor appointments scheduled and have at least 2 more surgeries within the year. However, if we are still standing after the past 48 days then we can handle all the rest.

There are so many things i am looking forward to but the biggest one is having my entire family together for the first time since Olive's arrival. The NICU has been a nightmare and a dream all in one. During our time here we met the most incredibly genuine people who never shyed away from us no matter how crazy i was that day. I have had the lowest points of my life here and everytime there was a person there to listen, respond, comfort and ultimatley pick me back up.  They provided flawless care for Olive and put me back together more times than i could count. I never want to come back here and would not wish this experience onto anyone. However, i wish i could take some of the people with me.

Thank you to all of you who supported us through this life-changing 48 days. We would not be standing today if not for every piece of support we recieved.

Now i have to do because i get to bring my little girl home!
