Good luck and good travel to Basking Ridge tomorrow. There is a nice Panera on the right with other stores, just before the turn to MSKCC after getting off route 78. Sloan also has a little sandwich counter now recently opened. It is a lot easier parking and access than the main center in NYC. You might ask the local oncologist about a remedy for the tingling and hand pain. I'm sure they have experience with this side effect. Also a call to your oncologist at Sloan for suggestions could help. I know another pill to take, but when you finish with chemo it will feel good to take all of the pills to the CH police station for disposal. Remember, you won't need them anymore. Just picture how you will dump all those unneeded pills into a bucket for disposal. We are glad Pat found a place. Remember, after our kids leave after Thanksgiving, we have that extra bedroom available until Xmas when they all come back. After new years it will be available again if she needs to be closer to you.

Hi Oliver. Good to hear you are feeling somewhat better. Hoping tomorrow brings good news about the success of your treatments.

I think that kind of neuropathy in the hands is pretty common, Oliver. You might try wearing fingerless gloves with hand warmers slid inside the palms... they make reusable ones (HotSnapZ - they are nice)!

Thank you, Oliver, for the updates. We are pulling for you. All good news, which is great to bring some warmth to this chilly Ithaca day.
I agree with Mark about Ithaca CarShare — do you have any of those parked near you or your Mom? You might even enquire with them about a special rate for this circumstance. I know Jennifer Dotson, at least professionally. Let me know if you want an intro.
Also – the offer for acupuncture to help with side effects of the chemo stands. Let us know.
Take care.

Hugs to you, Oliver! I feel deep gratitude for your friends and family. That your mom will now be nearby makes me so happy for you! I'll be on the lookout for car info for her. I'm praying for good news (no news?) from your upcoming visit.

Oliver, do you have a microwave heating pad pillow, and would you appreciate one? They are my specialty, and I'd love to bring one over. I wouldn't survive the winter without mine, I carry it with me everywhere. Also, I have the hand warmers. What do you think? I have been thinking of you all lots, sending love and prayers, especially tomorrow. I am grateful for the updates, also, from you and Amelia.

Weather late Thursday and early Friday looks like quite a mess! Hope you can get where you're going ahead of its path and then hang out somewhere cozy in New Jersey until it's done.

An Ithaca CarShare membership might be a good way to go for the occasional car use, but Lyft or Uber might end up being at least as affordable.

Thanks for the positive update!
