Oliver, while we are back in Rochester for the winter months, you are still in our thoughts and we are hoping you find something to smile about each day.
Wishing you all the best, Bruce and Elaine Fredericks
I am thinking of you and sending you speedy healing wishes. I am so glad that you are responding to the treatments with less discomfort. My friend Rebecca Elgie told me you looked great the other night (I could not make it) at UU.
The play day at Costello's will be on Saturday 23, from 2 pm on. I hope you can make it. Dr. ANN and John Costello 8 Winthrop Place 256 0919
I am sending you cheers, love, and laughter. have a grand time tomorrow and ever,
I'm so glad you're feeling better this cycle, Oliver! Hope you had good news on your last trip to NYC. My sister-in-law has trouble with pain in her hands from dry skin, and she's found medical exam gloves to be helpful, though they don't breathe. Maybe you could cut a small hole in each glove for air circulation.
For outdoors, LL Bean (and LandsEnd too, I think) has gloves with fingertips that allow you to text on your smartphone with the gloves on. I think both of them also have warm hats. When I was hairless, I came to appreciate a soft head covering. A fleece hoodie might work, or a warm hat with cotton or acrylic fabric in it. 100% wool was too scratchy! If you have a cat at home, maybe you could get the cat to lie on your head at night :-) .
Thinking of you and Amelia and wishing you both a happy Thanksgiving! Big hugs to you both.
Hey Oliver -- Thinking of you today and of how difficult it must be (on top of, well, how difficult it all is) to await news. Also thinking of Lucy's 5-year old reaction to me thanking her for her patience. Usually it was "I DON"T FEEL PATIENT!" and me deciding that patience is one of several fundamental paradoxes of life. You can't truly exhibit patience without feeling impatient. Anyway -- I honor you and whatever tactics you are employing to make it through your days with such GRACE.
I believe you got home just in time from NJ before the snow became terrible. Hope the trip went well. I'm sure you are checking the Sloan Kettering portal for your results. Sometimes they show up on the portal before the doctor calls with results. The term for this is "scanxiety". I may have sent you a copy of the article on scanxiety. We all go through it in anticipation of the scan results. We are thinking about you and conveying our strength to you. Call if you need anything. Mel & Mollie.
Hoping things went well on Thursday. It sounds like you have a plethora of wonderful friends and family! That can make all the difference when going through tough times. I am glad your mom is close by. I bet she feels better being in the neighborhood as well. As always, sending good thoughts, fairy dust, positive mojo and will cast a few spells if I can find them on Google. Take care know we are rooting for you in Oregon.
