I understand how those moments of normalcy during cancer are so very precious, Oliver. Keep "pacing" yourself so that you may be as fully present as you can be in each and every one of those. You and your family are in my thoughts and warmest wishes!
I am regularly checking your journal, Oliver. I had breast cancer last year. Thinking about the small things I was grateful for made a big difference. I am glad to see you are doing this. It is powerful. Hugs to you and your family.
I am so proud of you Oliver for being usual you even in this period of time. I am sure we will see you back in no time. In the meantime stay strong and be you.
Thinking of you. What courage it takes! Be at your house 7:30 - 7:45 Friday for walk with Amelia.
Sitting in Syracuse airport. Were in Calgary for their record 40cm of snow yesterday. Snowing so hard that by time finished deicing very large jet, would need to start over, so gave up.
Your moments of normalcy sound wonderful and you sound in the post in good spirits - Yay!
My sister Natalie has chronic kidney disease and had a transplant 20 (!) years ago. A couple years ago she shared Christine Miserandino's The Spoon Theory (https://butyoudontlooksick.com/articles/written-by-christine/the-spoon-theory/) to explain her limited energy. As you progress through treatment you might find it useful as well. Cheers.
Been thinking about you, Oliver and I appreciate reading your words. It was so good to see you at church the other day, even if it was a only drive-by smile between us at coffee hour. This is a wonderful list of normal moments. I feel especially touched that it was Cady's last home swim meet. Lots of hugs and light to you as you rest and heal.
