Journal entry by Tiffany Duong —
Hey gang, chemo session #4, scheduled for today, has been delayed a week to try and figure out what is causing so much discomfort and vomiting so many days after chemo.
Yesterday, Nhan got another IV infusion at Kaiser Roseville, the second of the week. It helped, as it always does. Bac Nho, Bac Bang, Bac Tho and Co Lien came up to visit (yay for all of them being vaccinated and careful) and bought food so we wouldn't have to cook here. Smells are really intense and uncomfortable for Nhan.
After talking with the oncologist, it was decided to delay chemo to (1) give Nhan a chance to recuperate, and (2) to do a CT scan and labs to figure out why his vomit reflex is triggered so easily. That many days (14) after chemo, it wouldn't be the chemicals doing it.
So, mom and Nhan are at Kaiser Roseville again today for a CT scan with contrast and some labs to see what else might explain the vomit triggers.
