Norm,
I love to remember the days of Fighting Sioux football and all the wonderful players, parents and family members I met during my 24 years there. How you were one of those dedicated parents following their son to home & away games and always cheering for the team, in the good games and the not so good games. You are a very special Dad!

From seeing you weekly as a substitute teacher in the EGF schools growing up to seeing you weekly as you picked up Callan from my kindergarten classroom there was always a smile on your face! Thoughts and prayers are with you always. ❤️

Hey Norm--I'm writing to you on this rainy Saturday morning. Our first weekend off for the summer and the weather isn't cooperating. Oh well, things we can't control right? I have missed seeing you around the schools and town. I laugh often about how you would always ask me if my kids switched from hockey to basketball yet? Why would they want to play hockey you always said! After 24 years teaching special education, I have decided I need a change and I will be teaching 2nd grade starting my 25th year! Good grief, exciting and scary at the same time. McKenzie graduated this spring and is off to the University of Wisconsin at Superior in the fall to major in Health/Physical Education (teaching) and play hockey! Please find some comfort knowing so many in EGF are thinking of you and praying !

Hello to you Norm and family! I have to say that we sure missed you at school filling in for us this year! Talking tractors and hearing your stories about Heritage and auctions were always worth the visit. Your help with the kids when we did our field trips was always appreciated! I hope you are getting all the family time you can possibly handle! Laurie and I are praying for your comfort physically and spiritually.

Norm,
I couldn't help but read some of the posts sending well wishes, and a lot of them reminded me of my own relationship with you! I think I had you as a sub in just about every grade growing up in EGF, the earliest I remember is the first year of the temporary River Heights after the flood (3rd grade for me). We always groaned and complained when you were our sub, because we knew you would make us work, and hold us accountable. Secretly I think we enjoyed you as the sub, because you were fair, treated us with respect, and you always had a good story or two. As a teacher now, I can truly appreciate that quality in a substitute, and I knew my students at CMS were in good hands when you were there. Thinking of you and your family!

Sending my thoughts and prayers to you Norm and also to your wonderful family. The dedication you have to your family is a beautiful thing. I wonder how many miles you have put on traveling to distant relatives weddings, graduations, etc. We havent seen each other often, but when I did see you, it was always such a warm hello and hug. Big, tall Norwegians like you, my dad, and GrandpaDave give the best hugs 😊. Sending hugs to you now and always. Love, Jessica, Oliver, Finley, and Neva Wirth
