Noah’s Story

Site created on November 8, 2021

We are using this CaringBridge site to keep family and friends updated in one place rather than trying to keep up with  individual emails, texts and calls. Noah's parents will be reading him all of the messages of support and words of hope and encouragement.
Noah was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit at Randall Children's Hospital on October 26 because he was having extra heart beats that were disrupting his heart rhythm. That evening, he was sedated for a cardioversion procedure to shock his heart back into rhythm. This initially worked but they've also had to use medication that has now gotten these PVCs under control.  He is still in the ICU to be closely monitored while on this medication. His heart is still enlarged with decreased heart function. Noah is being transferred to Seattle Children's Intensive Care unit on Tuesday, November 9 for further treatment.

*** Here is Noah’s address if you’d like to send him a card or something to encourage him. He can’t receive flowers or balloons in the ICU.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Molly Bell

The family got great news yesterday at Noah's appointment with the cardiologist in Seattle.  The doctor was blown away that Noah's ejection fraction had increased to 45 and that his heart continues to go down in size. It is really rare for Noah to have the level of heart failure that he had as a teenager and equally as rare to be able to improve his heart function without surgery. This is nothing short of a miracle and the family is forever grateful for your prayers.

The plan is for Noah to continue to ween off a medication that helps keep the PVCs at bay. If he starts having PVCs again once he is off that medication then his heart is now strong enough to handle the ablation surgery which would stop those PVCs from happening.

Yesterday Noah was released to work again at Discount Tire which he is very happy about. He is also released to work with a basketball trainer! The doctor said if Noah continues to improve then he could be playing basketball again in 6 months! This is the best news. God is good!
