The service was very uplifting and focused on the beauty of Nicole's life and how much she loved others and touched their lives. Although tears were abundant, I felt encouraged at the same time. I loved Grandma's comment about how we say our hearts are broken, but our sadness is evidence that our hearts are functioning as they should. Grieving is a way we continue to show our love for amazing people and the sense of loss we feel no longer having them in our lives. I know that Nicole is well, healthier than she ever was on earth enjoying her eternal body, and that "It is WELL with MY soul!" It brings me great comfort and a smile knowing that Nicole and my husband Joe (who "graduated" on October 31) are surfing with Jesus together!
I hope Nicole is looking down on us every now and then so she can know how many lives she touched and blessed. It would definitely make her smile. And, thank you, MacKenzie, for having the amazing ability to make everyone around you feel better, no matter what you are facing. Your faith is contagious. YOU are MY hero!
Well now I know why Nicole was such an amazing writer and deep thinker. She gets it from her mama! I so loved seeing her bedroom with posters up of my very favorite bands! She sure knew what great music was and I’m so glad it soothed her and helped her. Music is magic! Thank you for sharing this! I love you and your girls forever! 💜❤️💜
I too was so touched by her inclusion of that song in her playlist. That chant has long been a source of comfort for me especially having grown up with a Buddhist mom (Buddhism began in India) and from my own study of world religions and spirituality. How fortunate she was to have that understanding in her lifetime! We are all so blessed to have crossed her path!
I am sitting at my desk at work (thank goodness the kids have all gone home for the day) with tears streaming down my face and "Across The Universe" blasting on my computer. I feel Nicole's love for this song. I am so blessed to have had her in my life! And Mackenzie, I. Am. In. Awe. that is all I can say. You remind me everyday how loved we all are by our Father.
I can picture Nicole making her WAY ACROSS THE UNIVERSE and smiling down on us. Every time I see a rainbow, I know Nicole is sending it to us, saying "Smile! All is well and I love you!"
