Newest Update

Journal entry by David Poulos

First, an apology - sorry for the delay in posting.

I smile to myself thinking about A Christmas Story,
and serialized shows and comics. Waiting for the next issue or show. Even now with shows, waiting for the next Episode to be released. And it makes me smile.

Anyway, Dad had his appointment Tuesday prior to maintenance treatment, and all was good. His bloodwork, numbers, etc. He’s now in physical therapy, and, to the surprise of no one, the PT guy was initially taken aback by how strong Dad is. So, as a reward, they gave him ankle weights to wear this week while he does his exercises. He’s been a bit muscle weary after, but as he and I agreed, it’s a good feeling, that workout pain.

But really the update I wanted to share for those of you who do not attend my parent’s church, or are not local: my dad just finished building the attached alter, by finishing the cross (shout out to mom for the great paint job under tight time constraints), in time for a dedication and special service.

I also include a photo of a Christmas ornament he made for all of us a just few years back, going so far as to using different woods for the different animals. I include it because it blows me away, and I am REALLY proud of him.

I’m honestly amazed at his talent, skill, and craftsmanship, and his wide breadth of knowledge of how to do ALL kinds of things. It literally boggles my mind.

And it makes me smile.

Thanks for the kindnesses to my mom and dad from all of you, to Gene and George and Julie and Rich and Steve, especially. From the leaky sink to the Ring doorbell, to the work and shuttling for a flat tire, to fixing the gate even tonight. You all exhibit in my eyes, the Christian ideal spreading His word of Love through good, kind acts.

Keep up the prayers - you all are a blessing.
