Nichelle’s Story

Site created on December 26, 2019

First of all, I appreciate you taking the time to read my sisters story!

My sister Nichelle has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Doctors have discovered two types of cancer in her breast and lymph nodes. She was diagnosed December 9th, 2019, and we are quickly learning that this will be a long and incredibly hard process.  This is not exactly a place any of us would want to be, but we trust God and his promises . We also know when we seek God, we see God.

Nichelle has gone through rigorous testing, and while we are still waiting for some additional test results, doctors have enough information to set up her initial chemo treatment plan next week.  After 20 weeks of chemo, she will undergo a double mastectomy; followed with radiation.

Once she completes her radiation treatments she will be CANCER FREE! At this point she will start endocrine therapy and undergo reconstructive surgery.  The next challenge in my sister's story is having to address the leading driver to her type of cancer, estrogen. To significantly decrease her likelihood of the cancer returning, her ovaries and tubes will have to be removed.

My sister plans to work full-time throughout this process and will need an army of prayer warriors, physical, and financial support by her side. Not all of her medical care will be covered by insurance. She and her husband, Eric, will need extra help for Ella, their 9 yr old daughter,  and their sweet fur babies, Cane and Lucy.

First and foremost, we ask you pray for Nichelle, Eric, and Ella.  Please feel free to put them on any prayer lists. We know who the Good Physician is and we know he hears our prayers! If you would like to help in other ways as well, I have attached a gofundme and meal train link to this site under "ways to help". This will help minimize their overwhelming financial burdens. There is also a planner available for anyone to help support their family in several different ways. Any and all help is immensely appreciated!!

Nichelle has been very positive throughout this process due of her faith, hope, family and friends.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Forever grateful,

Kassey
