Happy 2024!  We have started this year with wonderful news. Nels' new meds (Cresemba) are working well and he is feeling great. His bloodwork is back to normal and the amount of blastomycosis antigen in his body is at a 2 - it was over 20 when he was first diagnosed. The meds are terribly expensive, but so worth it. We can't put a price on good health. Thank you to all who have supported us via our GoFundMe. We are grateful for every one of you.

Nels had a virtual visit today with the Infectious Disease doc at Mayo and he is pleased with Nels' progress.  Nels will meet virtually with him again in 3 months, unless something were to come up. He will continue the meds for one year and will return to Mayo at the end of the year for scans, with virtual visits every 3 months.

We were gifted tickets to the Vikings/Packers game on New Year's Eve for Nels' birthday!  Jack couldn't come, so we brought a little sign with his photo to remind the Vikings to "stick to football!"  Despite the beating the Packers gave the Vikings, we had a lot of fun. It's been a while since we were able to do anything like this, so this was a very special treat. Thank you to my parents for surprising us!
