Nathan’s Story

Site created on December 4, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Nathan is a dedicated college freshman who was recently diagnosed with an atrial septal defect.  This is usually found when at a younger age, but his was just discovered about  a month ago.  The cardiac doctors have scheduled open heart surgery for December 23, 2019.  They felt sooner would be better than later as it could lead to lung damage and further heart damage.  With his recovery, he will be able to return to school after Christmas break with restrictions, but will be unable to work for a while.   I will update his recovery beginning after the 23rd to keep everyone informed. Thank you for visiting. Please visit our GO FUND ME page for donations on the ways to help tab above in the purple scroll bar.

Journal entry by Tammy Winkers

I took Nathan to the ER yesterday morning complaining of shortness of breath and pain. They checked him out and said no blood clots or pneumonia. Returned home. Is better today.
