Nathan’s Story

Site created on May 8, 2019

On Thursday, May 2, 2019, Nate was diagnosed with High Risk- B- Cell -Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

The Lord comforted us each day, but following several months of chemotherapy, Nathan's cancer still had not gone into full remission. His hemoc team realized that his unique situation required a unique solution. They felt Nate could tolerate the Car-T cell transplant because of his body's resilience & strength throughout chemotherapy.

On Monday, October 14, 2019, Nate was the first ever "pediatric" patient at Rochester's Mayo Clinic to receive the Car-T cells, which allowed Nate's body to go into full remission. The Lord's mercies are new every morning. We are so grateful for friends and family following his journey in prayer and thanksgiving.

BACK TO THE VALLEY OF SUFFERINGS...
The Lord was so merciful to give us 2 years of mountain top living. Unfortunately we are back in the fellowship of suffering, but grateful to grow closer to the Saviour through it all.

On Thursday, January 13, 2022 some unusual flags were seen in Nate's routine bloodwork. Because the cancer has returned, a vigorous course of chemo will be used to get it into remission with the hopes of moving to a bone marrow transplant. We covet your prayers for this humble, kind, generous boy. I am asking God that it is a prayer investment you will never regret. He brings us great joy and he is dad's best friend.

This kid has NEVER COMPLAINED once about his plight, but walks through it valiantly. Yes, he has good days and bad days, but he is a fighter. HE IS OUR HERO!!!

Thank you Lord for this BOY!

Journal entry by Don and Lisa Noonan

Hello praying saints,

Thank you for praying for Nathan!

Today marks 609 days POST TRANSPLANT.

I never imagined so many highs & lows packed into 609 days.

When I think about a mustard seed of faith moving a mountain, my everyday brain says that cannot happen.

The mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park will be right where I left them, the next time we visit.

We all have prayers in our heart, difficulties in our lives, and challenges on our paths and when God allows those things to improve, heal or change that, my friends, is mountain moving faith in action.

I heard the word CHIMERA, at lunch on Sunday, when Natalie unexpectedly got a Mayo portal alert, and we all lost our breath, when we heard Nate's myleoid chimera cells increased by 10%. (Yes, good news)

This to me, is a mountain moving miracle and my soul doth magnify God our healing Saviour for such amazing news.

His myleoid chimera is now at 30% after dropping to 20% over this past year.

The goal is 100%!

His T-cells are holding at 95%  Which is EXCELLENT. Those are even more important to him than the myleoid cells for cancer prevention.

Whenever NATE pops into your mind,
please ask God to give back the years and donor cells the "locust has eaten!" And keep those T-Cells preserved.

Nathan gives of his time, his income, his strength and his resources back to GOD, and the LORD mercifully saw fit to hear YOUR prayers and give him 10% back. I am beholden to THE LORD.

Nate has missed many milestones in the 6 years we have gone toe to toe with this disease, but yesterday he passed his driver's road test.  THANK YOU LORD, for the small and big mountains you move in our lives and that we often take for granted.

In my heart, I am just another Syrophoenician woman begging GOD, for a "crumb of blessing" day to day and yet GOD has done more, so much more, than we deserve.

When, I say God bless you all, I genuinely mean it, your petitions hold the attention of God.

The prophet Jeremiah said:
"Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me." Lamentaions 3:19-20

We are HUMBLED within our souls, remembering where we have been, the captivity we have experienced, and the reality of how fragile life is, and how quickly things can change. These remembrances actually give us hope.

May you have a blessed Christmas dear praying family and friends.

Dearest Lord,
It is of your mercies that we are not consumed.
We thank you that your compassions fail not. Thank you for raising Nate's donor cells miraculously by 10%.
Thank you for giving us more than a crumb from the Master's table.
Help us continue to find new ways to detox and strengthen Nate and give him long term wellness and the resources to match the need.
Keep Nate safe behind the wheel and thank you for granting him this milestone.
Please help our dear ministry friends and neighbors as they valianty battle for victory over cancer. Hear their prayers, let us all be mindful to pray fervently one for another.
God, you are THE KING of GLORY, we bow before you.
Thank you, LORD.
