Journal entry by Nathalie Rabuse

Happy Friday! Met with Dr. Emil Lou at the University of Minnesota on April 19, 2021 and he concurs for now that Lanreotide hormone infusions are the best course of action. Meanwhile, I had an additional, more targeted, scan to look into whether surgery is an option. It appears there are numerous, quite small, tumors spread throughout the liver that did not show up in the initial scans. Given that, surgery is not recommended. In other words, the after effects of surgery would likely to be worse than the disease and it is unlikely all the cancer could be removed.

Next stop then is Mayo in Rochester. I am scheduled there for the last week of May for more testing and a meeting with two doctors that specialize in neuroendocrine pancreatic tumors.  All that said, I feel good and looking forward to warmer weather.

Also, thank you to everyone for the outpouring of well wishes, cards, flowers, prayers, and all the waves of positive energy. I feel the energy and am warmed by it! Again thank you! And so the journey continues . . .
