Journal entry by Nathalie Rabuse —
Went to Mayo on September 16, 2021, for my first post-op check-up and thus time for another update. Scans were taken and now we have a baseline. While there was a little bit of growth in what was left behind, nothing to panic about at this point. Again, no chemotherapy or radiation needed at this time, for which I continue to be grateful. My future will involve trips to Mayo, about every three months or so for now, to keep an eye on things.
Meanwhile, I am mostly recovered from surgery. At the check-up my oncologist told me that while I will die with cancer, it’s not necessarily cancer that will kill me. What a comedian! But seriously folks, things do look good for quality of life and keeping the cancer at bay for a good long while yet. Again, I am grateful for all the love and support and will continue to post as I have news.
