So sorry to hear of Nate’s passing. Nate was my professor in Seminary. I will forever be grateful for his gentle instruction and encouragement from my first year of struggle in (re)learning how to study and write academic, graduate research papers through until completing my senior capstone, with Mennonite History along the way. I also treasured going up to Grantsville, MD for his father’s memorial service. Nate’s intentional guidance and courage sustained many of us students through our EMS experience. I am sure he will be missed and remembered well. He was a great teacher, mentor and friend. May God bless you all and give you Peace as you honor his life in meaning ways in this time.

It is a gift that John 11 is the text for this week. May the gift of the weeping Jesus uphold you.
