Natalie’s Story

Site created on August 20, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In March 2020 I was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiform brain cancer. This diagnosis came after several seizures in December 2019 and two brain surgeries in early 2020. The tumor was found in my left motor cortex which controls the right side of my body. Over the course of the past several months I have lost motor skills/strength in my right foot/leg and now beginning in my right arm. (thank God I’m a lefty!) I am currently still somewhat mobile with a boot/cane/walker as my balance has been quite compromised. The outpouring of concern and offers of help from family, friends and colleagues has been amazing. Due to the need to focus completely on my own health and to make time to spend with those who I most love, I made a very abrupt decision to retire from the Y. Those who know me well know how hard that decision was.
I will continue to update on this site when I am able and look forward to hearing from those who follow.
