Thank you for taking us along on the amazing journey you and your mom have had. As difficult as it has been, it was filled with overwhelming love and grace and it was a blessing to all of us who followed through CaringBridge. You and Kay have left such a legacy to your family and friends. Peace and Joy to you all in the days ahead.
What beautiful words about your sweet mom! I miss her so much it physically hurts. I still expect her to be in her usual places and it hurts when she's not there but I know in my heart she is having a blast! One of the first things George said this morning was "Happy Birthday Kay Bird". We still refer to her desk here at work as Kay's desk. It always will be. I will try everyday I have left here on earth to let her light shine through me! She was always so busy helping others and I had hoped that when I was able to retire I would join her in some of her work. So now when I do retire, I'm going to call you and let you take me Holy Angels and show me the ropes. I love you all so much and pray that you feel God's peace today and everyday.
Well, I’ve had a good cry— while reading this wonderful tribute to your sweet Mom. I went to where Nana was, she looked at me, and said, “What’s wrong?” I answered”Jodi, that beautiful writer, wrote on caringbridge today.” So, I had to read it again- through tears, but with a slight smile at the end. I’m envisioning a large choir of angels singing the birthday song to her—in the sweetest rendition she’s ever heard, with all of her heavenly family on the front row, singing the loudest! We ALL will shine HER light today. Kay will always be missed and loved here on earth. We will continue to love and pray for your sweet family, Jodi.
Through tears I also find a smile thinking about your precious mama. Her cute grin, words of encouragement (and her smirky comment that makes me laugh), her love & how she truly cared for everyone. Her light will especially shine today as we celebrate her. Hug & love to you all !
