Journal entry by Nadio Granata —
School Reunion
Let me photograph you tonight
Let me hold your hand and squeeze you tight
Let me walk a little with you by my side
Look up at the sky and watch the stars twinkle in the night sky.
I want to go cycling on the moors and collect heather, conkers, strawberries just like before.
Stop by the fresh water spring or one of the many reservoirs where we used to dive in.
I want to go back to The Spotted, The Cavalry Arms and The Wappy Spring.
Drink sweet cider, dry Martini or Double Diamond out of a tin.
I want to run along the West Corridor, breaking all the rules one more time
And sing The Alleluia along with Messers Loraine, Quinn and Devine.
And when we’re all older and our memories begin to fade
We’ll remind each other of the games we used to play.
Let’s stay young together forever
Live the teenage dream.
