Luis’s Story

Site created on February 3, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Thank you all for your concerns and especially all your prayers. I opened this site to help inform, update and answer many questions doubts and/or rumors you might have. It will help us having to answer phone calls, many emails and many texts.
As most of you know 12 years ago Luis was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After all the extreme, painful but necessary treatment Luis continues to be in remission but always keeping vigilant for any of the possible known late effects of treatment. There are, however, many side effects, that I consider, not included in the late effects journals. Also, in many situations our questions cannot be answered by our doctors or professionals in the field.
At home our family tries our best to make Luis's living conditions as normal, simple and  practical as possible. Sometimes mistakes are unavoidable and yet are  probably necessary to learn and modify our techniques.

Journal entry by Francesca Angulo

Hello everyone  We pray you're all are keeping our nation's orders by staying healthy and practicing social distancing.
I have 5 minutes to spare and share on Luis's status. He had 1 month of physical therapy but was cancelled due to this world pandemic. Because of COVID physical therapy has been cancelled; also, his orthopedic surgeon cancelled his x ray and update visit for over a month. His doctor finally reorder the x-ray and after very strict guidelines with Kaiser, Luis finally had his scan. The good news is he has healed on the lower part of the femoral neckbone at the pin. According to his doctor 2.5-3 months is right on schedule for someone with his condition and age. He will need more therapy but we are waiting for the green light from Kaiser. Hopefully next scan will give us the 100% healing we've been waiting for.
Thank you for your support and feel free to share with everyone interested.
