Newest Update

Journal entry by Mya Huff

haven’t posted on here in awhile but here’s another update

-I stopped my iv chemo because I had significant shrinkage in my tumor (about half the size) and because of the terrible side effects it has caused
-I’m back on the oral chemo I started with
-we don’t expect any regrowth and we hope that we can soon get it removed
-I’m off of pretty much all my pain meds at this point
-I’m starting to feel normal again. No more pain, no more nausea. Still very tired at time but, that’s to be expected.
-I turn 18 in 2 months, and as soon as I do, I will be going to CTCA (cancer treatment center of America) for second opinions
-as of now, the tumor is just still in a bad spot and surgery just isn’t an option. Hopefully soon I can have another appointment with the general surgeon to discuss surgery again. If I were to get surgery, I’d have to have not only a general surgeon but also an OB/GYN surgeon  (because it’s close to my ovary and it would have to be moved during procedure) and a urology surgeon because it’s wrapped around my ureter. It’s just too much of a risk at this point.
-we found another (looks like) tumor in my right leg and that has grown in the past three months. My oncology team thinks it’s just a cluster of blood cells but we will do a x-ray just to make sure.

Other than that, all is well and I thank you all for your prayers:)
