The Wifey & I traveled to SLC for my 1st cycle of chemo treatment on the 20th thru the 22nd of April.
We stayed in an old hospital that's been converted into an hotel (Family and Patient Housing). It was a pleasant place.
I'm thrilled to share that my body responded really well to the chemo treatment. The Dr & I are very pleased. I have to admit, I was pretty anxious to see how my body would respond. I'm fairly confident that I'll be prepared mentally & emotionally for each treatment. It's the physical response of my body that is the unknown 🤪 I'm really jacked to get this part of my journey started! The waiting around was getting old 😂
We did some sight seeing. We visited The Natural History Museum. That's a cool place. We caught a movie in an actual theater! 😎
We experienced the world famous Pie Pizzeria 🤗 We had to stay an unexpected additional day. A mix up of lab scheduling between Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) and St Luke's Cancer Institute. I believe we're all on the same page now 🤞🏽
"They" say that the 3-5 days after chemo are sometimes more difficult than the days of chemo treatment. I'm relieved to share that I really didn't have any side effects ☠️🖕🏽💉🖕🏽 this 1st cycle 👊🏽🙏🏽 Thank you Jesus!
Now we're back in Boise. I have my lab tests (week 2 & 3 of each cycle) performed locally. I'm so happy to be home with our fur babies, Nina & Indi! Thank you mom for being a great fur Nana ❤️
A big Thank You to Tracy & Angie plus help for the prepared meals awaiting our return! You ladies rock!
Well I hope you enjoy the photos.
Thanks for joining my journey!
