Murray’s Story

Site created on May 3, 2018

On the evening of Tuesday, May 1, Murray suffered a cardiac arrest while on his back porch with his wife, Brenda.  He was taken by ambulance to Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, then flown to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.  Because Murray has many friends all over the country, this site was created to keep everyone updated on his progress.

Journal entry by Melissa Pierce

Murray had a cardiac cath last Thursday to see what blockages he had. As expected, they found several blockages in his arteries, the two biggest being the left main (100% blocked) and the right main (95% blocked). He went back in Monday and they were able to place two stents in the left, but were unable to do anything to the right at this time. There is no immediate plan to tackle that one. He did very well with the procedure, but had some issues with low blood pressure Tuesday morning. They were finally able to get it back up to normal and have been running tests to try and figure out why it dropped so low, so quickly.

We thank you for continuing to pray for him! Several people have called and left voicemails with words of encouragement on his phone number. We plan to play those for him so he can hear the voices of his friends that are cheering him on! Keep them coming!
