Mr. Savar was, and always will be, a cherished soul. He was an instrumental (pun intended 😊) figure throughout my 13 years attending Agnes Irwin and beyond, sending birthday messages each year. He will be missed by so many, in so many ways.

Thank you Shelley and Audrey for keeping us all up to date with Murray's journey. My heart goes out to you and your family. Heaven has surely gained another angel, and I can visualize Agnes and Sophie Irwin welcoming him with smiles and big hugs. No one who knew him will ever forget him. Sending love to you all.

Mr. Savar changed my life, not only with music but with his beautiful spirit. I think of him often and am glad he is at peace. Murray, you've been a bright spot and inspiration for so many, myself and my family included. You will be dearly missed, but I know your memory will live on through the beautiful music you've shared with the world. Love you so much and thank you for everything. <3

To know Murray was to love him - and he was known by the thousands. I will always cherish the singing, the encouragement, the laughs and the love that entered every room with him. It's hard to imagine AIS without him. Rest in peace, Murray. You will live forever in our hearts and minds.

Murray was a mensch in every sense of the word. David and I met Murray almost 30 years ago when we first joined Temple Emanuel and we became good buddies. David and Murray were 2 months apart in age and they both graduated from Central High School. They grew up in the same neighborhood in of NW Philly “called Mt. Airy.” Murray always made it a point to play David’s favorite version of Adon Olam whenever we were at Shabbat Services. Murray and I revived the Purim Spiel at TE and we spent hours laughing and planning together. My kids adored Murray. Good night, Sweet Prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
