Journal entry by Maggie Susan Summers

Three weeks ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Processing this information has taken me on a roller-coaster of emotions. I have days where I'm alright and days where I'm a crying mess from when I wake up till I go to sleep. I have a great team of Doctors working with me and I know I'm going to beat this.

Next month I will be having surgery, a double mastectomy and removal of some lymphnodes. They'll be putting in spacers to stretch my skin so that when I have reconstructive surgery, there'll be enough skin for it. Once I'm healed enough, I will begin chemotherapy. My hope is that at the end of treatment I will be in remission and cancer free.

I will be chronicling my journey here and on my blog at mentallybent.wordpress.com. I hope to have your support, love and prayer as I fight this.

LLAP,
Mags
