Journal entry by Rachel Hockett

I’m sure this doesn’t surprise anyone who knows Hayden, but this kid is making miraculous progress. We thank God for healing our son and providing the incredible doctors and nurses and therapists. Today, I woke to a feeding tube unhooked and a little voice babbling. 🥰 It’s always a good thing when those two behaviors are happening, it means Hayden is back to his usual self.

Ok, so we discussed the possibility of staying for inpatient rehab to support Hayden’s physical recovery from everything his body went through. However, by the time we get it authorized, Hayden will be most likely to a point where he would just need outpatient services.

So long story short, we should be going home today!! 🥳🥳🥳
Hayden will receive outpatient physical and occupational therapy and we will do things with him at home. So thank you all for the prayers during this scary and whirlwind of a time for us. We truly couldn’t have made it through without you.

Don’t stop praying though because we still have some work ahead of us and Hayden still has epilepsy that we will have to keep at bay.

But for now...we are focusing on today.

“Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:1‬
