Morris’s Story

Site created on September 27, 2019

On Tuesday, September 24th my dad was doing his normal morning bike ride and was struck from the back by a driver. My dad was then taken via flight for life to Froedtert Hospital where surgery was performed immediately on his small intestine that was ruptured. His surgery was successful and life saving! Dad has sustained many injuries! However because my dad is so active and healthy he is recovering extremely well. The trauma surgeon stated that he told his son that he had just operated on a 71 year old with a body of a 31 year old!

Dad has a broken nose, broken cartilage on his left knee, swollen right knee, he has road rash on his face fractured fingers and he did have bleeding on his brain that stopped the day of the incident.

Dad has been getting better each day. God has performed a miracle and we are so grateful! Over the past few days dad has been able to progress. He has been drinking thru a straw and holding his cup in either hand. He is taking medicine orally and has been approved to eat solid foods.

Last night before I was leaving his room I said to my dad “I’ll see you in the morning Fighter!” And my dadput his fist up to mine. That moment right there was so special. My dad told us yesterday that God will see him thru! We know this as well!

There has been an incredible amount outreach to our family. We are blessed beyond measure with the community of people who have and continue to lift us all up in prayer! We thank you and we will keep you posted here on dad!

At this time please continue to pray for our family and specifically for Dad's back surgery that will take place tomorrow. We will continue to update you! We love and appreciate you all!

To all the families/individuals that thought of me through their prayers, wishing me well while at  the hospital / home-- cards and gifts, etc. Thank you.
The out pouring of care and concern is honored and deeply appreciated from my heart and from my familia. You all have and are helping me make this journey of rehabilitation less difficult.
