Journal entry by Laura Meents

I have known SammiJo for just about half of our lives at this point. We have known eachother through awkward stages, bad teenage break ups, but even after going our own ways as young adults we have remained connected through the years.

I admire the woman, mother and wife she has become.

My heart aches for my friend and her sweet husband as they embark on this season of life that will be spent with their #morrispartyof5 family spread across Missouri.

On 4:40pm, Saturday, March 17th Oliver Daniel Morris (son number 3 to Jo and Jerod) was brought into the world via a 3 hour and 30 minute c-section.

He was 2lbs 8oz; daddy said he came out in his sac and he could see him swimming around, which was cool in the middle of the chaos. Thankfully, Oliver was taken to the NICU and was stable following delivery.

Jo however, still had several surgeons working on her. They were able to save her uteris and bladder, as they were not damaged as badly as initially thought.

Many people have been asking how they can help SammiJo and Jerod Morris ; aside from praising our Lord for His blessings he has already shown this family that so many of us love, we can be a blessing by giving some of what God gave us to help with meals, bills, transportation costs or anything else that may come up during this possible 3 month stay.

Nana Theresa and I are going to do our best to help Jerod and Jo keep you all as updated as possible. I pray that in 18 years they can look back on this journal and praise the Lord for the story of the 2lb baby that will then be a tall, strong young man.

There is a gofundme page attached to this journal so please share away and watch for more updates on Oliver's progress!

Thank you all so much!
