Morgan’s Story

Site created on December 13, 2018

Welcome to Morgan's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. On Dec. 5, 2018 Morgan came home from work complaining of leg pain. By Thurs. the pain was so severe he left work and went to the doctor. They ruled out blood clots and sent him home with the diagnosis of a strain, perscribing ice, elevation and ibuprofen. When his leg showed no improvement and began to develop bruising on the front of the shin we made the decision to go to the Alaska Regional Emergency room on Sunday December 9. We are thankful for Dr. Levy's care and attention for calling in specialists and quickly diagnosing Morgan with Acute Onset Leukemia. We took a LifeMed Flight to Swedish Hospital in Seattle.

Journal entry by Elizabeth Edmands-Merritt

Happy February 17! It is the Anniversary of our Engagement 8 years ago, thanks to a plastic smiley face cupcake ring! I am so glad he asked and I said yes! The best news to celebrate the day, the Sprycell did its job and Morgan’s latest blood work showed no detectable Philadelphia chromosome. Hip hip hooray. We leave for Cabo in 1 week and Covid is on the decline. God is good. Live life to its fullest.
