Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. Hebrews 4:16.
So much has occurred in the past several weeks and Praise God with very little complications. We moved to an apartment near Moffitt on Sat 2/9/19. Morgan received a very strong Chemotherapy drug on Monday 2/11. Wednesday 2/13 was Transplant day. We have been outpatient the whole time. He has to be at Moffitt each morning by 7:45am, staying for 3-8 hrs. depending on daily labs and needed replacements. Currently the chemotherapy has knocked out his immune system. Prayerfully within the next several days, it will begin to rebuild. The main side effects to this point are extreme fatigue and no appetite. Morgan has stayed joyful, bringing laughter into these difficult days, trusting and seeking God’s strength to carry him through each hour and each day.
Last evening Mary Beth shaved / clipped his hair as it should fall out on Day +10-11. 😊😬😷. Every time Morgan goes outside of the apartment or outside of his room in the Bone Marrow Clinic, he wears a mask. He will actually be a masked man got the next 3-6 months.
Please continue lifting him up in 🙏 prayer. With no immune system and a very low platelet count, he is at great risk for infection and bleeding. Please pray for health, no infection and no bleeding. Please pray for side effects to improve and not worsen. And for me to stay well so I can continue caring for him. He would be admitted inpatient if I were to catch a cold.
I am confident that Morgan has had fewer side effects than expected because many have brought him before Christ in prayer. Thank you so much for those prayers.
