Summer begins for me filled with the smell of lilacs growing on the side of the house and around the cemetery and decorating the graves and high school graduation ceremonies.

There is a scent, a mixture really, of rock dust, sweat, and the cold crispness of early morning, that happens during an alpine start on a “peak day” that reminds me of summer. When nearly all are sleeping, even the birds aren’t singing yet, and there is only a faint flow where the sun will rise in the East. It foreshadows a day of exertion, pushing the limits, and of vistas so grand that no camera, no pictures, no words can describe. That is summer to me. Thanks for your thoughts and sharing. Knows that we think of you, Mike, and your family. Richard and at Tannie.

My summer scent is Logan canyon at night. Logan smells different at nights than anywhere else I’ve been. Maybe it’s the trees?? I also think my summer scent would be campfire!! Summer nights in UTAH are the best. Love you and you’re always in our thoughts.

I’m so glad the scans looked good! That’s is sort of a void in time when waiting for scans. I also remember my mom getting sore throats after her radiation too. She tried to suck on throat drops to sooth it. Sometimes it helped. I so wish I could send Grace up to help make pancakes and just hang out with Mae and Max. Hopefully one day.🤞🏻 As always, we’re praying for all 5 of you! Love you guys!

Let me think Molly, my summer sent would be the ocean and sand in Hawaii!!! Since we can’t go there, I’ll just dream!🥰😀. I’m so glad to hear your good news. You inspire me to stay positive during this difficult time. It will be nice when we can all be back together again. Thank you so much for your uplifting attitude and thoughts. You are a gem!! Love you...💖

For a girl that grew up in Los Angeles and spent as much time at the beach as possible all year long, my scent of summer would definitely be sun block and the ocean/beach. Though for most of my youth it was more of the smell of baby oil than sunblock. Always wanted that tan just a little darker. Oh my, we didn't know any better back then. Molly, you are so amazing ! I feel like you are such an inspiration and I am so grateful for all you teach us through being the awesome person you are!

Coming from Seattle to Utah, I have grown to appreciate summer 😄 Summer to me is the scent of fresh rain hitting pavement, and Japanese BBQ (although lately I am really into a nice Korean BBQ spread!)

A month off?? That sounds wonderful, at least I hope it felt that way! I'm sorry your forever friend can be such a pest!!!! Maybe you should give your friend a name? Or maybe just leave it as that nasty "C" word!
Hang in there! Sure love you and pray for you!!

Summer smells like kids just out of the pool and fresh tomatoes and raspberries from the garden. Love your optimism Molly! Keep smiling. We are smiling with you!
