Thank you for all the texts, calls, emails, and donations to support me.  I unexpectedly landed in the ER Tuesday morning. It was a 6 hour wait to be seen and then I ended up staying in the ER until the next morning when my bed was ready. 

 

Long, gruesome story short the melanoma in my colon would not stop bleeding and something had to done. There was a short list of undesirable options, but we decided on the one that was going to give me the best outcome. 

 

So Friday morning, the surgeon removed part of my colon containing the melanoma and wham, bam, thank you ma’am I’m cured!

Ha! I wish. 

 

Even though that “tumor” is gone, because my cancer is metastatic it is still in me. I will continue to need treatment and am hoping we can restart in no more than 4 weeks. 

 

When I asked if this whole saga will effect (affect? I never know) my life expectancy the oncologist said in some ways yes because I’ve never been able to stay on a treatment plan long enough. 

So in those prayers and well wishes you have for me, let’s hope this is the last setback I have, so I can give my body a chance to fight this! 

 

I love you all- even if we’ve never met. It makes me feel happy knowing that I’ve made an impression on someone you know who shared my story. And for all of you I do know, I’m so proud to be your friend. I’m really good at picking friends and I have best of the best. 

 

My family has been amazing supporting Jason and I with the kids and house and all the not-fun stuff that needs to continue to happen when the boss is out 😉

 

Lastly, I love my Nash and Easton so much it hurts and every crappy day away from them is for them, so I can be around as long as possible. 😚
