Mike’s Story

Site created on April 10, 2021

Mike's cancer has relapsed again. After his initial battle in 2008 and the stem cell transplant on January 2, 2019, he is once again facing Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It isn't news Mike and Stef were prepared for, or news his wonderful oncologist wanted to deliver either. But Mike is ready to fight once again! In the last several years there have been major strides in treatment for blood cancers and Mike will be receiving a treatment we are very optimistic about. On April 9, 2021 he had his cells drawn to be sent to Bristol Meyers Squibb, a local pharmaceutical company, where they will be processed for CAR-T Cell Therapy (see article attached, click "Ways to Help" at the top of your screen then see support links).

Both Mike and Stefanie will be off work for the next several months during this process to limit their exposure to illness as well as to manage side effects and go to daily appointments following treatment. We will use this site to keep everyone updated along the way. There is a GoFundMe set up for them (you will find a link under the "Ways to Help" tab). If you are more comfortable donating a different way directly to Mike and Stefanie (Venmo, Paypal, cash, etc), Tiffanie is happy to set up a way to make that happen. Their medical bills will start arriving soon enough and there will be many expenses in the meantime, let's do our best to come together and help them out.
