Sign In to Show Your SupportI visited the Bone and Marrow Transplant (BMT) clinic on Wednesday. Nothing but good news!
The biggest good news is that after 2 more weeks, we will no longer be under quarantine due to the transplant. But we will still need to closely adhere to the Covid-19 precautions, primarily due to my “advanced” age! But this means that we will be able to go to church, go out to a restaurant to eat, go to a movie, visit with friends, etc., as long as we practice social distancing and other Covid preventative measures.
My risk of developing Graft-Versus-Host-Disease (GVHD) is now only 25%...maybe even a little lower. The second piece of good news is that the only activity that could trigger GVHD is too much sun. So, as long as I use a good sunscreen on uncovered parts of my body I can play golf and do other outdoors activities. Hallelujah!
I still have to report to the BMT clinic monthly, to make sure there is no sign of GVHD. Glad to do it!
I thank all of you for your prayers and support these many months. I thank God for all of you, as well as for His healing touch.
