Journal entry by Shari Kunza —
Greetings all,
I wanted to send you a note about Mike's Visitation (Monday, November 23) and Memorial Service (Zoom, Tuesday, November 24). We are still having both and will be operating under strict COVID guidelines. The funeral home staff are very experienced and knowledgeable about how to operate these events. That being said, each person needs to decide for themselves whether they are comfortable with attending - there will be no hurt feelings if you decide to stay home...we understand!
The Visitation is at the Mounds View Community Center. We have a room for 300 and will have less than 75 at any time in the room, including family. Mike's family will be separated by households and behind tables to discourage contact between households. Visitor traffic will flow one way, with a minimum of 6 feet in distance, with a separate entrance and exit. There will be hand sanitizer throughout, including at the guest book with a clean pen for each person. Masks are required to be worn over the mouth and nose. Please keep children at home who cannot wear a mask and don't understand social distancing. It sounds so strict - and I guess it needs to be. The last thing Mike would want is to have his Visitation be a super-spreader event. There is a crude drawing attached to this message if you would like to visualize the Visitation.
The kids and I did not get COVID. We had a high risk exposure and managed to stay virus free. We're not sure how that happened, but we followed the quarantine rules and were tested towards the end of our quarantine.

We look forward to seeing those who can make it and have loved reading the cards of those who can't.
Stay Healthy and Stay Safe!
