Randi - I’m a bit late to find out this unfortunate news and I immediately thought about you. While working with Mike at Vacatia, I lost my own father to cancer. During that difficult time, one thing I distinctly remember was how much love and empathy Mike shared with me. I will never forget his wise words on my last day of working together with him. He said: “I get it, life is short, but you still have to work hard.”

Mike was a good man. He will be dearly missed.

I just want to add my condolences to you all. I worked with Mike quite a bit at the Family Travel Association and it was always so great to spend time talking with him on a variety of subjects. He was such an engaged person and he had so much knowledge and a passion for doing good work. And we always had some good laughs on our calls, as well. I'll miss those conversations very much. This is a huge loss for all of us and everyone he touched.

I was very saddened to hear of Mike's passing. He was a kind soul and a good mentor, not to mention his keen business knowledge and savvy. I had the pleasure of working with and then under Mike many years ago at FedEx, where he made so many contributions and innovations. His love for Bobbi and for his kids was always clearly evident in the way he talked about both. I pray that God will bless his family with many happy memories as they mourn his passing. The world has lost one of the good guys.

Mike will be both missed and remembered. Immortality occurs when someone like Mike creates so many memories and impacts others that he will never be forgotten. He earned and deserves such a distinction. I know his family feels the loss in ways I cannot express, but may they find comfort in the extensive network of friends and colleagues MWJ connected with and elevated over his far too brief life on earth. Rest in Peace, knowing we'll speak well of you for years to come. DBS

I’m so sorry.... Mike was such a great guy from the time I met him at Apple 20 years ago to watching our kids grow up. We shared a passion for dedicating ourselves to business excellence while doing everything possible to being a great family man. He was my idol by taking time off to spend time with the family and take incredible sports pictures of all our kids. Needless to say, we’ll all miss Mike

So sorry. Mike was my first manager at FedEx and I'll always remember his wise words to this day... "what interests your boss, fascinates you." I'll always remember his broad smile.

Much love from the Dakin family in Falls Church, Virginia.
