Mike’s Story

Site created on November 23, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Mike was admitted to the hospital last Thursday. He was feeling, dizzy, had chest pains and couldn't breathe. It turns out he got an infection from his chemo treatments. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in July and had just completed his fifth chemo treatment the Wednesday before he went into hospital.  Anyway, everything went downhill from there and he suffered a number of problems, which got him put on the ventillator.

Journal entry by Vera Hogan

What a great day. They removed Mike's breathing tube this a.m. Had a nasal canula for a few hours. Then an oxygen mask. He is getting air and lungs are doing all the work. He swore not nice words to doctor and nurse, flipped them off and get me my stuff, I am getting out of here. He was MAAAD! Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts. God is good, please keep it up.
