Mike’s Story

Site created on February 19, 2018

Mike Fitzpatrick our dearly loved friend and Young Life leader had emergency colon surgery on Sunday night March 3. The surgery was successful and life-saving. A couple of days later Mike was experiencing racing heart with the BPM of 180. He was given extra fluid to deal with the situation and his heart rate was righted. On Thursday a week ago 3/7 that fluid found its way to his lungs and made it difficult for breathing and keeping his oxygen levels up. On Monday 3/11 this week he was running a fever and seemed to have an infection but his temperature is normal now and no infections have been found. Today 3/14 he is doing very well. I will post the latest update and prayer request below in a journal entry. -Mike T

Doing okay today.  High flow oxygen was successfully turned down from 60% to 55% (on 30 liters per minute), and he’s maintaining his oxygen levels so far.  Isolation precautions were discontinued today - yea!
