"There are obstacles we all face that require trust in God to overcome."
-Unknown-

Welcome to our Caring Bridge site. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, words of hope and encouragement, and most important, your prayers!

Mike has been diagnosed with kidney cancer with metastasis in his lungs and brain. The kidney and tumor were removed on 2/3/20. We will keep this site updated so you know how to pray. We know prayer is the most important step in this entire journey.

We are confident that God has a plan. We are relying on Him for our next breath, our next thought, our next everything because He is everything.

We continue to be overwhelmed by all of the love and encouragement from family and friends. To know so many people love us is overwhelming in the best of times. In times like this, it helps us get through the day.

Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when the heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8

Thank you for your love! God is good and we choose to rejoice in Him regardless of what this journey looks like. Even when we don't see it, He is working. Even when we don't feel it, He is working, He. Never. Stops. Working! He is the Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness. My God, that is Who You are!!

Thank you for walking this journey with us.

Journal entry by Mike Cleland

Hello everyone.  I thought I’d give an update on my treatment plan and results.  Before I do that I want to thank you personally for donating money to my go fund me site.  I appreciate your support so much and am very thankful for friends and family who pray for me and have donated your hard earned money.  Thank you!

I started the chemo treatment a year ago and it has shrunk many of the cells in my body and kept them stable with no new growths.  I do have 2 spots on the brain we have been watching for a while but they are small and not growing as well, praises indeed.

I’m sure many love the fall season like I do, it has the best holidays, great family get togethers, superb weather, and this has always created a season of gratitude and rejuvenation in me!  I’m blessed in spite of my challenges and I encourage you to take inventory this fall and reflect on the good in your life.  Cherish it!
