Michelle ’s Story

Site created on November 5, 2019

Some of you know me as Mickie, some know me as Michelle, either way it is me. Recently I was diagnosed with a rare cancerous brain tumor,
Primary Central Nervous System (CNS) Lymphoma.  It is an aggressive tumor that requires aggressive treatment. The outpouring of love and concern has been humbling and overwhelming. God is guiding Gary, me and my medical team in this walk.  We are grateful and appreciate your prayers for my medical team, family and coworkers who will be filling in the gap in my absence. My niece Breanna Eades and friend Lisa Podewils have established this Caring Bridge page to keep everyone updated.

Please join us on this journey of faith, acceptance, denials, fear and love.

Journal entry by Michelle "Mickie" Wagner

God answered our prayers once again. We don’t have the radiologist report yet but my neurologist said the MRI looked great and showed it to us. She said I am doing really well and don’t need another MRI for a year. Praise God! I have to be honest, my scanxiety was really bad this time. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I had some bad days in the past few weeks. My brain was working overtime, especially during the forty five minutes of the MRI. The technicians did things a little in the beginning and then there was an issue with movement, they said. They had to put extra padding around my head. I had convinced myself the cancer was back. I didn’t go to book club last night but my lady friends prayed for me, texted and called. I am so fortunate and thankful for my friends.

Now I just have to continue to adjust and adapt and remember there are many things that can affect my brain, like weather, sleep, over stimulation. But that does not mean the cancer is back. I will continue pacing myself and look for positive distractions.

THANK YOU for your prayers and words of encouragement. I am extremely grateful to you and to our God who continues to watch over me.

With extreme gratitude,
Mickie
