Mickey’s Story

Site created on February 26, 2020

Mickey was hospitalized on Friday February 21 where they discovered fluid in the pericardial sac around his heart. This eventually led to a diagnosis of lung cancer (adenocarcinoma - NSCLC). He is now being treated at Shands UF Health Center and is thankfully being treated by a targeted therapy for his specific cancer type - something we are hopeful will be well tolerated and effective until a cure or even more effective treatment is discovered.

Thank you in advance to all those who plan on joining us tonight for Shiva at 6:00 p.m. ET. Below is a link to the prayer book for the Maariv service for anyone who would like to be able to participate. If you would like to express your condolences by speaking at the conclusion of the service, it would be helpful if you could either enter a comment on this post or send a private message to Jason Smith during the Zoom call. May Mickey's memory always be a blessing to us all!
