Newest Update

Journal entry by lisa lynnes

Hello Everyone,

Well I've officially been off work for 2 weeks. Since my last update, we have attended therapy, we were seen by the surgeon and scheduled that. Mom also saw a neuro-optometrist last Monday. She needs to have a correction in her vision, but that is going to wait until she has surgergy. We are afraid once she has surgery it could either improve her vision or make it worse. Mom had lasik back in 2005, but from her head trauma we believe has caused a decline. Mom is very nervous about her surgery. We were told by the surgeon that she could be in the hospital 3-5 days and then back to in rehab for 2-3 weeks, along with having just as much pain as before. We believe this is worst case scenario. We (therapists and myself) have explained that it won't be worse than what she has already been through. She had a lot of anxiety at first and very edgy which is to be expected. Now she is just anxiously waiting to have it done with. Originally it was scheduled for September 14th, but they called and had to push it back to the 16th due to the Covid surge. Lots of prayers that it doesn't get moved out. She is ready to get it over with and get rid of "Wilbur." Kinsley and I will be excited to get rid of Wilbur as well. I am not sure how many times a day we ask where Wilbur is. Kinsley has been a great helper with her grandma's and enjoys her time with them. As some of you may not know, my grandma stays with us during the week and we bring her to the lake on the weekends. The plan is she will be staying with us during the winter, once we shut down the cabin for the season. I will update you all about surgery and how it went once we get there. Thank you all for the continued prayers and support. It means to the world to us!

Take care-

Love,
