Welcome to Michael’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportIt is with a very broken heart that I am writing this update. Yesterday (Saturday , 11/28/20) evening my dad, Mike, passed away in the comfort of his home. We had surrounded him with love for the last week of his life and held his hand, even when he could no longer hold ours back.
I won't lie, I'm a little angry that he had to go so early, never getting to enjoy his retirement he had worked so hard for. I am reminded, however, of the many blessings the last year has brought. We were given time. Time to say, "I love you" many times. Dad was able to go camping a few more times, go fishing and (his personal favorite), enjoy several more campfires with family.
Two weeks ago he spent his last good day celebrating Thanksgiving a little early and supervising the decorating of the house for Christmas. A job he took very seriously. He loved his family, his wife and life itself. He will be missed so much more than he could have ever known.
