Newest Update

Journal entry by Amy Klimek

Michael has made great progress since August.

We made it through the football season with Michael attending practices and offering encouragement.  It was one of the toughest seasons ever, with Michael not being able to play because of the nature of the game!

The Dr. cleared him in November to play basketball and he has been doing well.

His drop foot has gotten much better with him being able to lift his foot off the ground more than an inch. The Paraneal nerve was stretched during the accident and it takes time for nerves to heal.

His left hand has improved also.  Michael can lift up his left hand; we are waiting for his ring finger and middle finger to regain more movement.

December 21, he is having surgery to take out a screw that is irritating his IT band. Minor surgery, in and out the same day, small incision and should be back on the court after Christmas break!

Thank you for all of your support!

Merry Christmas!
