Michael’s Story

Site created on November 19, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Mike Kopp is a thoughtful, hilarious, and amazing friend to everyone he meets. The smiling face of PJ’s Tavern and a recognizable figure in the Kirkwood community thanks to years as a high school lacrosse coach, Mike spends every day putting the happiness of others first.

On Friday, August 21, our dear friend Mike Kopp was rushed to the E.R.  where he was diagnosed with a condition in his liver that is life threatening without the proper treatment and care. Michael is suffering from Liver Failure and the complications that go with this.  Getting him healthy is a marathon with lots of hurdles, but he is meeting each hurdle as they appear.

Michael has now had three stays in the Hospital and as of November 19th, is in the ICU at SLU hospital.   Unfortunately  today is the last day for visitors at the hospital.

I will update this page each day as I get updates from the hospital.
