Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Michael. Linda is using it to keep family and friends updated in one place regarding Michael’s health condition, medical care, and process. 💜💜💜

💜 We initiated this site on March 1, 2020 to ease the high volume of calls and text messages that were inundating Linda on a daily basis.

💜 Here’s a brief history of Michael’s recent health journey.

💜 After experiencing symptoms on Monday February 10, Michael underwent tests (CT scan and MRI) and was admitted to Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA. Results showed two masses with bleeding and swelling  on the right side of his brain.  After several days of medical care and treatment, Michael was transferred to Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital in Malvern, PA on Friday  2/14 where he was progressing in his various rehab therapies (physical, speech, occupational, and psychological). Plans were being made for his discharge on Saturday 2/29. However, on Friday  2/28 the medical team noticed a change in Michael’s condition during OT,  which prompted his being transported to Paoli Hospital for another series of CT and MRI tests.

💜 Michael is currently in stable condition at Lankenau Hospital (Room D1016, the Heart Pavilion). He’s in great spirits as indicated by his joking with his caregivers last night!   If you plan to visit, parking in Garage D provides a pedestrian bridge that accesses the Heart Pavilion at his floor.

💜 A next step in Michael’s care includes surgery which is scheduled for Tuesday  3/3.... time to be determined.  We will be using this site to provide  the latest information regarding  Michael’s health as we receive reports  from his medical care team.

A "Celebration of Life" honoring Michael is scheduled via Zoom on Sunday June 14 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm

In her book, Wheelchair Wisdom; Awaken Your Spirit through Adversity, Linda’s dedication was,
“To Michael, You make the world a better place and me a richer person.” Reflect for yourself
how that was for you, in relation to knowing Michael and his impact in the world. Please bring
