Laura our hearts were in the right place as we truly wanted to attend the celebration of a life well lived but the 4 1/2 hour flight and the cost was just too hard to justify. We have so many wonderful memories of the time we spent together at Avondale and they will be something we will always cherish. It would have been good to celebrate Mike's life and give us some kind of closure because it has been so hard to accept the fact that he is no longer with us. We will be with you in spirit on Sunday and hope the day is a true celebration of an amazing man. We love you!

I am so very sorry. I am still having trouble believing he is gone. He was energetic and charismatic. He had a wonderful sense of humor and I always looked forward to seeing him. He was a terrific mentor and friend. He will be missed a great deal. He really made the world a better place. He had such a positive attitude. He was a caring and enthusiastic teacher. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
