I love your list of needed practices. They are similar to mine, only I hadn't thought of making a list. I like the idea so much. And I like to know that I am not the only one bolstered by washing the dishes.

"For those of us with terminal or chronic illnesses, I think that navigating constantly changing, and sometimes dissolving, purposes, can be one of the most complex parts of serious illness." This seems very true. Thank you for the wisdom to see this and share it so we can care for ourselves and those we love as we face those situations.

Thank you, Michael, “receiving with gratitude” seems to me to be an ultimate purpose. You and your family remain in my heart and prayers.

Thank you for sharing. Your insight helps
me understand what my dad might have gone through as well. He defied all odds, living 10 years past his 6-month diagnosis. His spirit was much like yours—seeking joy and peace. The one thing I watched him do was live the way he wanted to live. He sought out and did the things he enjoyed: scuba diving, working in the yard, etc. and he did them without a lot of concern for whether or not it was the last time. He just lived. So, live with reckless abandon and enjoy all that can. Life is about love as well as loving what you are doing.

P.s. We don’t care if you mix up your words. We are just happy to read them as it gives us all what we are seeking.

Dear Michael, I cannot think of a better way to describe you than as "a part of larger forces that use me as an instrument towards wholeness." I imagine that the momments you let go into that knowing have a sense of being hom that goes way beyond words.

Loving you,
Kaia
